In my previous article (which I invite you to read to get
the details of the range and packaging), I told you: This is the 10ème
and last time since 2015 that the House of Davidoff releases a cigar to
highlight the artistic life of Mr. Avo Uvezian.
In fact, we could be more precise and say the 11ème
times since this last range is declined in two completely different cigars.
For your information, even if outside the U.S.A. we didn't
get volume 1 and volume 4, this range is composed of :

At first glance there is no photo, impossible to be mistaken:
the cape of the Golden is quite clear while the other is dark chocolate.
I practice a straight cut, as Zino would say the only good
way to smoke a cigar ; even if I have a lot of friends who appreciate the V cut
or the puncher, the tastes or the
colors...
I light it and it is a beautiful smoke which receives me in
its cloud. Sensations arrive quickly; and I find myself as a child when I was
going to look for the bread and that the roasted smells of the crust came out
of the workshop of the baker; before a point of white pepper comes to titillate
my tongue.
Like the hawk, I quickly dive towards the boreal forest with
its scent of greasy earth and humus; the whole is accompanied by a good layer
of cream and a pinch of honey.
The combustion is perfect, the ash is compact and of a
beautiful color almost white zebra of gray.
While the flavors are average and the power is light, I
continue my tasting in search of a broader palette (compared to the Brown
version). The opposite happens: apart from the appearance of a more woody side
with cedar, maple and oak, the toast and cream are almost gone. Kind of like
leaving room for the oily earth.
This shows that you can make a great tasting with a rather
small palette.
And to back up my words, the flavors rise to medium-strong
and the power passes the medium mark.
Dear readers, I am not at the end of my surprises: I have
long since left the boreal forest to find myself in Eupen, right next to the
Jacques chocolate factory, and the production of the banana chocolate is in
full swing (I have to say that I am stunned, the first time that a tasting
sends me back into this kind of memory). It lasts a few minutes before the
earth and white pepper take back their elder rights.
My tasting ends in a moderation of dessert coffee as the
smoke stream reaches its peak.
The tasting was carried out on a cigar of 14 cm for a cepo
of 55.

In conclusion: as a human being I have a preference for the
Brown, but as an amateur I will gladly smoke the two cigars of the range. You
just have to find the right moment, the Golden brought me new sensations and a
great tasting moment of more than one hour. So I placed an order for a few
copies.
It is nevertheless with a heavy heart that I finished my
vitola because it also marked the end of a beautiful book AVO IMPROVISATION. I
didn't miss a single copy of this surprising range in its quality as well as in
its packaging and its release was a bit like my kid's memories at the foot of
the tree on Christmas day.
But the name of Mr. Avo Uvezian will not die out, because there are still the classical scales to remind us that with a good Avo cigar, we will never remain strangers in the night (Strangers in the night), as he composed so well on the piano.
